CTEIS Best Practices

Below is a list of CTEIS best practices that can improve data management. These tips can help you complete your data collection, review it carefully, and submit it smoothly. Following these practices will enhance the accuracy of your data and make your workflow more efficient, leading to better results in reporting and analysis.

Best Practices:

  • Manage Users. Ensure all users have both MILogin and CTEIS credentials for CTEIS access.
  • Enter Courses. Enter Courses and Staff as soon as you can.
  • Utilize Instructional Designs Reports. Encourage teachers to utilize Instructional Design Reports to verify courses. This includes the 3-year Instructional Design Export, for program and subsection listings. This report is available on cteis.com.
  • Use Imports. Imports are faster and more accurate. If you need help, contact the CTEIS Help Desk.
  • Start MSDS early. Identify and review parochial and home school students. Use the UIC With No Current MSDS report on cteis.com to find invalid student UICs without a current MSDS record.
  • Review UICs. Utilize the Bad UIC by Building report for a list of invalid student UICs. Report can be found on cteis.com
  • Keep Student Contacts. Maintain updated contact information for students for follow-up surveys and senior updates.
  • Maximize student enrollment and advancement. Audit reports and Assessment reports are very helpful and can be found on cteis.com
  • Attend Training. Please remember to attend training sessions. To register, or view upcoming training sessions, please visit the CTEIS Knowlege Base.
  • Use the CTEIS Knowledge Base. The CTEIS knowledge base offers helpful guides, templates, and support materials for completing CTEIS tasks.
